With departure in Judith Butlers gender theory and Toby Finlays critique of it, I did a lecture around the problematics of the binary and non-binary understanding of gender. How the “heterosexual matrix” and understanding of gender as a binary, is problematic for people who see ourselves as gender fluid, and don’t define in relation to the binary cultural understanding.

Furthermore i demonstrated how the non-binary thinking according to Toby Finlay, is critical for trans gender and non-heterosexuals, because the binary understand has been a clear definition to relate to, and thereby a crucial part of the fight for acknowledgement.
