12. Folk body

A video interview about my relation to my “folk body”.

Asking questions about what it means to have learned a tradition and a language, the music and movements are deeply archived in the body and will probably remain accessible there.

It is quite a gift, because I have a huge passion for this material, and I always have it with me. But as I have the Danish national folk costume painted on my body, it draws me to a certain representation of gender normativity and questions about belonging to a nation.

How can I unify my wish for gender fluidity and cross dressing with this tradition?

What happens if I take off this costume, and hereby my heritage? Will it stay on my body when once worn?
